Dallas, TX – October 2025 — LUMA Residential is proud to announce that Crystal Moya, Vice President of Operations, has been honored as the National Apartment Association’s (NAA) 2025 Malcolm N. Bennett Advocate of the Year.

This prestigious award recognizes an individual who demonstrates exceptional leadership and dedication in advancing the rental housing industry through advocacy, engagement, and education.

Crystal’s long-standing commitment to legislative advocacy has made a measurable impact on housing policy across Texas and at the national level. Her efforts have helped strengthen the multifamily industry’s voice with lawmakers and champion the critical role that housing providers play in shaping strong, sustainable communities.

“Having worked with Malcom advocating on behalf of our industry for years at the national level before his passing in 2021, I can say there was no more tireless an advocate for the critical role that housing providers play in the communities we serve, but Crystal is certainly a close second!” said Ian Mattingly, President of LUMA Residential. “Crystal embodies that same passion, drive, and commitment to our mission. This honor is incredibly well-deserved.”

Crystal’s recognition highlights LUMA Residential’s continued focus on advocacy, leadership, and service within the multifamily housing industry.
