Luma Residential Partners with Entryway to Open the Door for At-Risk Individuals and Families with Employment and Housing Opportunities

|

Dallas, Texas (11/13/23) — Luma Residential today announced a new partnership with Entryway, a nonprofit organization that provides apartment companies with a pipeline of pre-screened, trained, and job-ready candidates for entry-level positions in the multifamily housing industry.

Entryway offers a unique program focused on sourcing talent where hiring managers may not typically look: individuals and families at risk of or currently experiencing situational homelessness.

Creating Employment Pathways in the Multifamily Housing Industry

Entryway participants receive industry-specific career training and mentorship designed to strengthen their existing skill sets and prepare them for new career opportunities within the apartment industry.

Through this partnership, Luma Residential will receive candidate referrals for open entry-level positions such as:

-Maintenance technicians
-Leasing agents

In return, Luma Residential will provide discounted housing opportunities for Entryway participants who are hired.

“We are excited and honored to work with Entryway,” said Ian Mattingly, President of Luma Residential. “Not only will we be helping a great cause, we will be gaining hard-working, loyal associates in the process.”

Addressing Situational Homelessness Through Industry Collaboration

Every day, approximately 582,500 Americans experience homelessness, with about 78% facing situational homelessness.

Entryway works with a network of more than 55 prominent multifamily industry partners, including Luma Residential. Through these partnerships, the organization helps create employment opportunities while generating meaningful community impact and long-term stability for participants.

A Proven Model for Economic Self-Sufficiency

Since its founding in 2014, Entryway and its multifamily partners have helped more than 500 individuals and their families transition out of homelessness.

Entryway currently operates in nine major markets:

-Atlanta
-Charleston
-Charlotte
-Houston
-Nashville
-National Capital Region
-North Texas
-Central Florida
-Greater Phoenix

“People experiencing situational homelessness are an underserved segment of society,” said Christopher C. Finlay, Founder and Chairman of Entryway.

“These are individuals who have marketable job skills and are ready to work, but through a series of unfortunate circumstances or bad luck have lost their homes. They just need a hand up, and the multifamily industry can provide not only that, but the potential for a new career.”

By leveraging partnerships with local nonprofit organizations and apartment management companies, Entryway provides a high-impact private-sector solution that offers participants a clear path to economic independence and long-term housing stability.
